Paulo Kaliika is a Ugandan singer best known for covering songs by the late Kadongo Kamu legend, Paulo Kafeero. Though little is publicly documented about his personal life or original work, Kaliika rose to prominence in the early 2000s by singing Kafeero’s songs at local events and competitions. In 2005, he gained recognition after winning a contest organized by Eagles Production at Nakivubo Stadium, where he performed three of Kafeero’s songs. Following the event, he reportedly received a cash prize of UGX 100,000 and a bicycle from Kafeero himself. Kaliika often acknowledges Kafeero’s influence and models his musical style closely after the icon.
